From the 2010 Financial Times/StarMine Global Analyst Awards, published in the Financial Times on May 14, William Blair & Company analysts were recognized for their stock picking and earnings estimates of U.S. companies. The awards recognized the top 10 stock pickers and earnings estimators overall and the top three stock pickers in 63 industries and the top three earnings estimators in 64 industries, based on 2009 calendar year performance of recommendations and estimates data.

From The Wall Street Journal's "Best on the Street: 2010 Analyst Survey," published on May 25, William Blair & Company analysts were recognized for their stock picking ability. This year's 220 winners were drawn from more than 2,000 eligible analysts. The survey recognized the top five analysts in 44 industry sectors, based on their performance during 2009. Analysts’ skill in picking stocks was measured using recommendation-performance scores calculated by FactSet Research Systems on the basis of the estimated total return, including price change and dividends of each eligible stock an analyst covered in an industry.
