Brand Marketing & Communications

William Blair & Company employs an in-house full-service marketing department. We work with all areas of the firm and are staffed to provide strategic direction and tactical execution in four areas: branding, business marketing communications, e-communication, and marketing program development. This includes developing the firm’s brand, public relations, advertising, graphic design, cross-selling, Web site content and management, collateral material, and creative and strategic thinking.

Some positions include: graphic design, public relations, E-communications, marketing strategy, and employee communications.

MIS

Today‘s world of investments is built on technology, and it‘s our responsibility to meet the technology needs of William Blair & Company. In this small, team-based organization, we provide a broad set of information services to internal clients and external customers in order to maintain our competitive position and expand our capabilities.

As part of the MIS team, you‘ll work in new technologies and contribute to the success of the firm. Each professional also has the opportunity to contribute to the goals of the team, and we‘re flexible and open to new approaches to technologies and to work/life balance.

Some positions include: Help Desk, developers, project leaders and network/data analysts.

General Office

Building Management
It‘s our responsibility to provide a comfortable and properly functioning facility. We supervise new construction and remodeling, coordinate moves, order furniture, and manage telecommunications and access equipment.

Internal and external training opportunities exist.

Telecommunications
We‘re responsible for implementing and maintaining William Blair & Company‘s telecom systems and services company-wide. This includes the IPC TradeNet, the Lucent-Definity G3R PBX and the Intuity/Audix & Message Manager voicemail system. We can also handle individual requests from departments.

Some positions include: technician and analyst.

Office Support
In this department, we oversee the conference rooms, order food, deliver and hook-up AV equipment, and process passports and visa applications.

Human Resources

We offer services ranging from the recruitment and retention of employees and benefits administration to employee communications and acting as community liaison. We‘re responsible for ensuring that William Blair & Company continues to be a leading resource to investors, growth companies and institutions with long-term capital needs.

As part of the on-boarding, we‘ll offer you computer-based classes and mentoring opportunities along with training from external sources. We work together as a team, respect each other and work hard to give our clients what they need.

Some positions include: compensation and benefits management, and staffing and development.

Financial Control

We provide internal and external financial and regulatory reporting for William Blair & Company and its affiliates. The group is also responsible for tax reporting, profit sharing / benefit accounting, and payroll processing. We also maintain control over the business assets and investment assets of the firm. Additional responsibilities include departmental and product specific profitability analysis for the firm.

In our team-oriented environment, you will produce valuable, accurate and timely financial information, and have the unique opportunity to view the entire firm from the inside while working closely with management from each department.
